-Skin Antibiotic and Speeds up Healing.
A review done by the Health Sciences Research Centre at the University of Beira in Portugal found that helichrysum’s flavonoids and terpene compounds were effective against bacteria and fungus growth that can cause various skin irritations, including rashes, infections and delayed wound healing.
-Helichrysum can help hydrate burnt skin and relieve the pain following sunburns. It can also decrease signs of aging on the skin and block UV-light damage that can contribute to the formation of skin cancer.
According to medical studies, helichrysum oil has strong antibiotic and antimicrobial properties that make it a great natural cure for acne, for it works without drying the skin or causing redness and other unwanted side effects (like the ones by harsh chemical acne treatments or medications).
How exactly does helicrysum do so much for the human body?
According to studies done so far, scientists believe that part of the reason is the strong antioxidant properties — especially in the form of acetophenones and phloroglucinols — present within helichrysum oil.
-Benefits of Frankincense:

-Helps calm stressed skin.
-Helps Boost Immune System Function
-Astringent, Kills Harmful Germs and Bacteria
-Heals Skin and Prevents Signs of Aging
Why a tattoo balm?
We were at our local farmers market doing our thing, when a customer wanted to use one of our balms on his tattoo. He walked around in the cold and very dry (we are in the dessert over here!) weather and after an hour he was sold. We got to work on creating a balm with the essential oils specifically recommended for tattoo care. After a lot of research we decided the two oils (and most expensive oils in the “essential oil world”) would go into our balm. Frankincense and Helichrysum. Two of the most prized oils in the world.
The same week, we just happened to be contacted by an Organic Helichrysum farmer wanting to supply us with her oils straight from the farm…coincidence? I think not! Then next thing you know…BAM…TATTOO Balm is born.
So…Tallow? What is it?***
Tallow is animal oil that has been slowly and carefully kettle rendered from the suet of animals like cows or sheep. Our tallow is slowly kettle-rendered from organically farmed and grass-fed/finished cows. Due to the diet and care of our cows, this gives our tallow an amazing vitamin and fatty acid profile that can only be found in animal oils.
Why have I never heard of this?***
There is nothing new under the sun, and that is true with tallow. Tallow was prized by generations in the past, but as chemical products became more and more popular, tallow was left behind and forgotten. Now, as people are becoming more aware of the side effects of harsh chemicals and man-made products, we find ourselves turning back to what nature had provided all along.
What are the main nutritional BENEFITS?***
• Tallow is easily absorbed by your skin!
• An amazing vitamin profile- An amazing combo of vitamins A, D, E, and K that you can only find in an animal oil. Put them together with our plant oils and you have a match made in heaven.
• The AMAZING fatty acid profile- These fatty acids are found naturally in youthful and glowing skin and tend to decline as we age.
o Palmitic Acid- Protects skin from the environment and smooths.
o Omega 7 (Palmitoleic Acid)- Anti-Microbial.
o CLA- Anti- Calms inflamed skin and kills bacteria.
o Stearic Acid- found in our own oils, this amazing fatty acid brings moisture to the skin, softens, rejuvenates and has anti-inflammatory properties. Helps with collagen and elastin .
o Omega 9 (Oleic Acid)- Awesome carrier to the other oils and helps penetrate these nutrients deep into the skin.***
Tallow has also been used for eczema, small wounds to help healing, acne, rashes, and to regain youthful skin…and much more!
